DENIAL FIEND release an update for the fans! - February 8, 2008
Kam Lee of DENIAL FIEND: "DENIAL FIEND is busy working on several things at the moment. First of all we've confirmed several U.S. festivals including the Los Angeles Murderfest in April, and the Central Ill Metal Fest later this July. We're also working on a few European festivals throughout the summer and will release more information as those dates get confirmed. Additionally DENIAL FIEND's been creating brand new material including two tracks, 'C.H.U.D.' ( Cannibalistic Humanoid Under Dweller ) - based on of the 1984 movie with the same title, and 'THE BLOOD REAPING' - which is based on of the horror comic strip called 'The Blood Reaping Of Dr. Gore' created by horror artist ZORNOW. I've been talking with artist ZORNOW about new art concepts and ideas for future DENIAL FIEND projects which will include new T-shirt designs, new album cover art as well as a mini horror/gore comic book by ZORNOW (to be included with the next DENIAL FIEND release.) Also in the works from my end... keep an eye out for the new release by the band BLOOD FREAK out on Razorback Records. Their new album is intitled - 'Scared Stiff' - and it was 'yours truly' that wrote the lyrics for the title track. I will hopefully be doing a guest vocal appearance on that track as well! So 2008 will be a Horrorfilled year indeed, with the Horror Metal Legion growing stronger and DENIAL FIEND leading the zombie hordes onward to cunsume as much fresh flesh and brains as we can devour!"

Sam guitarist of DENIAL FIEND: "DENIAL FIEND will be playing on March 7th at the Crowbar in Tampa, FL. We will play several covers (Samhain, The Accused, Misfits) on top of our regular set showcasing songs from last year's debut full-length, "They Rise". The show will be recorded for a possible upcoming release on Ibex Moon Records sometime this year. We're proud to perform cover songs from bands that have influenced us greatly throughout the years. Hopefully we'll play a few of them good enough to be released. In any case, it'll be a lot of fun."

It's always a showcase for killer metal and we're glad to be a part of it. It'll be one of our first non-Floridian US shows. So we hope people come and check us out.” Sam Williams said Kam Lee adds “ "It's a real honor to be apart of this fest... as it was an honor and thrill kill for me to attend it last year to see the mighty IMPETIGO, CIANIDE, and MORTICIAN, plus all the other bands that performed as well. I met a bunch of great fiends and fans, and made some great friends too. DENIAL FIEND and MASSACRE will be touring Europe between late October and middle of November as part of the "Massacre Re-Animated Tour" - September 24, 2007
Reactivated death metal band MASSACRE — consisting of DENIAL FIEND members Sam Williams (guitar), Curt Beeson (drums; NASTY SAVAGE), along with ex-MASSACRE/current DENIAL FIEND members Terry Butler (bass), Steve Swanson (guitars) and Kam Lee (vocals) — will make its only U.S. appearance on October 6 at The Crowbar in Ybor City/Tampa, Florida.
www.crowbarlive.com/events/view/2007-10-06
This show is DENIAL FIEND's CD-release party and will see DENIAL FIEND closing the night with a one-time-only MASSACRE pre-tour set. (Both MASSACRE and DENIAL FIEND will be touring Europe between late October and middle of November as part of the "Massacre Re-Animated Tour".)

Former MASSACRE/DEATH frontman Kam Lee recently issued the following statement in response to requests from fans for MASSACRE to do some U.S. dates:

"MASSACRE will NOT be touring the U.S. and that is FINAL!
"This has nothing to do against our U.S. fans, as we do appreciate all the fans (what very few we have) here in the U.S., but you have to understand from a business stand point this is not even possible. MASSACRE can not get the correct kind of SUPPORT in the U.S. to even attempt a tour with out taking substantial financial losses. NO PROMOTER in the U.S. will even look at us at this moment. Shit, as a matter of fact — no promoters in the U.S. ever gave a fuck about MASSACRE in the past... and the only reason they would even look at us now would be to EXPLOIT us in an opportunisic way.

"MASSACRE is NOT back together as a working band, but only agreed to tour Europe in order to push DENIAL FIEND!!"

MASSACRE's lineup for the upcoming "Re-Animated" European tour — which is scheduled to kick off October 26 and last through November 18 — will consist of DENIAL FIEND members Sam Williams (guitar), Curt Beeson (drums; NASTY SAVAGE), along with ex-MASSACRE members Terry Butler (bass), Steve Swanson (guitars) and Kam Lee (vocals). The material covered on the tour will consist only of songs from 1991's "From Beyond" and "Inhuman Condition" EP.

In addition to MASSACRE, the "Re-Animated" tour will feature appearances by DENIAL FIEND, JUNGLE ROT, ASHURA (France), EXTERMINATOR (Belgium), SUICIDAL ANGELS (Greece) and EXTREME NOISE TERROR (U.K.; last three shows only).
Kam Lee previously stated about the upcoming tour: "This will be a joint tour with DENIAL FIEND and should not be considered a 'reunion' tour but rather an extension of what 'true' MASSACRE is, and should be considered a 'fan appreciation' tour! It's my way of saying thanks to all the MASSACRE fans for the support all these years... for keeping the 'Ancient Cult Death' sound and style alive all this time!"

DENIAL FIEND expressed their excitement for the current recording including Mike Browning's (Morbid Angel, Nocturnus, After Death) guest vocal spot - July 20, 2007
DENIAL FIEND, the new project that unites vocalist Kam Lee (Masscare, Death) with bassist Terry Butler (Massacre, Death, Six Feet Under), drummer Curtis Beeson (Nasty Savage), and Sam Williams (Down By Law, Pseudo Heroes) expressed their excitement for the current recording including Mike Browning's (Morbid Angel, Nocternus, After Death) guest vocal spot on the track "Return To The Tombs Of The Cursed Blind Dead" for their latest release "They Rise".

"Mike did a fucking great job, and his signature evil demonic voice just makes the song that much more dark and sinister!" A huge macabre thanks to Mike for his contribution to the album!
DENIAL FIEND have been at MANA studios mixing the new album and everything is going mayhem! Brian Elliot is a fucking evil genius behind the board, and is really making our sound complete! Drums are mixed as well as Bass tracks, and we'll be starting with guitars next... then onto the vocals. Everything is fucking blazing and solid and truely captures that raw feel and style that is DENIAL FIEND!"

Additionally DENIAL FIEND are excited to finally get on the road.
Recently Kam Lee had some passport problems which hindered their traveling, but now everything has been cleared up and DENIAL FIEND are 100% doing an upcoming tour.

DENIAL FIEND Bassist Issues Recording Update - July 2, 2007
DENIAL FIEND, the Tampa, Florida-based band featuring in its ranks Terry Butler (SIX FEET UNDER, ex-MASSACRE, ex-DEATH), Kam Lee (ex-MASSACRE, ex-MANTAS), Curt Beeson (NASTY SAVAGE, LOWBROW) and Sam Williams (DOWN BY LAW, PSEUDO HEROES), recently entered GL Studios in Brandon, Florida to begin recording its debut album, "They Rise". Butler has issued the following update:
"Despite the 100-degree temperatures and lightning storms, Sam and I managed to get my bass and his guitar recordings finished at the zero hour.

"I recorded with my trusted Charvel neck-through. I've had the old girl for over 20 years and she still sounds great! I ran it through an Ampeg SVT2 head and an Ampeg 8x10 cabinet, while recording two tracks at the same time with one being distorted and one being clean. The following day we invaded Erik Rutan's Mana Studios. It should be renamed Arctic Blast Studios. Anyone who has recorded there could vouch that the air conditioning is brutal! Brian Elliott was at the engineering controls. He brought a lot of cool ideas to the table and worked his ass off getting us some great sounds. Hats off to you for going above and beyond, Brian!

"We didn't want a production that was over-polished. We kept the recording as raw and natural as we could. We felt that the drums should be a driving force in the songs with the guitar and bass wrapped around that with the vocals sitting on top. To me the songs are fresh and seem as though they breathe.

"Kudos to Curtis for some tasty and aggressive drumming. He brings a lot of energy to the band! It was great working with Kam again. His voice is as strong as ever and I think this is some of his best work. The lyrical content he put together was very thought out and creative. All of this and Sam's killer songwriting and phenomenal guitar work. He came up with some really catchy and heavy riffs. His musical background being punk and hardcore I believe actually makes him a great songwriter.

"Lastly, I would like to give a shout out to the Undead Choir for the back-up shouts, grunts and moans. It was a lot of fun! GO!

"Bottom line is that I feel we've created one hell of a debut CD. There is a lot of heart and soul put into it. I am very proud to be a part of it."

DENIAL FIEND's "Dead Awakening" 7" EP was released on May 21 through Ibex Moon Records. The EP consists of two alternate versions of the tracks "They Rise" and "Cover Me in Blood", which will appear on the band's upcoming full-length, to be released this fall. The pressing is limited to a mere 500 copies.

DENIAL FIEND Studio update - June 10, 2007
IBEX MOON RECORDS recording artists, DENIAL FIEND, have been busily recording their much anticipated debut album, "They Rise." Guitarist Sam Williams offered the following update:

"This weekend we finished with drum tracks. Curt was really quick with his takes, which is always nice. We also did a bit of filming for the video portion of the release. Today we started on guitar overdubs. I plan on recording several rhythm tracks, which is something a little different for me. To try and keep clarity, two of the tracks will be a stereo version of a single performance. Then there will be two mono tracks of the same rhythm, but from two other performances. Hopefully this will keep notes clear and defined to some degree, while still adding a bit of heaviness. The rig for this track consisted of a stock Ibanez RG550 (20th Anniversary edition) into a Boss ME 50 multi effects pedal, into a custom 1X12, 50 watt tube amp (basically a hand wired JCM800). The next track will be done through a Randall RM100M stack and my custom V from Frankinstien Guitars."

DENIAL FIEND Guitarist Checks In From Studio - May 31, 2007
IBEX MOON RECORDS recording artists, DENIAL FIEND, recently entered the studio to record their much anticipated debut album, "They Rise." Guitarist Sam Williams offered the following update:
"Today we entered GL Studios in Brandon, FL to start recording 'They Rise!' We started with tracking drums. Curt 'the shark' Beeson blazed through three tunes before busting one of the studio's Shure SM57's. Indestructible, my ass! We thought it was pretty funny but the studio staff did not. That cut the session short. But not before we got 'Frankenstein Conquers The World,' 'Son of the Creature,' and the title track down to tape. We would have had 'Flesheaters' down (probably the fastest song on the album), except for the fact that you hear the snare mic getting hit and exploding somewhere during the take! Oh well. We'll be working on drums for the rest of the week, and then starting on guitar overdubs next week."

Guitarist Sam Williams offered his thought on the release:

“Although these are demo versions of these songs, we think they'll give people a pretty good taste of what's to come with our upcoming full-length: Old school metal with some unexpected twists. There's not much out there that sounds like us right now. And after this is sold out, we won't be releasing these versions again.”

DENIAL FIEND Cancels European Dates
DENIAL FIEND, the Tampa, Florida-based band featuring Terry Butler (SIX FEET UNDER, ex-MASSACRE, DEATH), Kam Lee (ex-MASSACRE, DEATH), Curt Beeson (NASTY SAVAGE, LOWBROW) and Sam Williams (DOWN BY LAW, PSEUDO HEROES), has issued the following update:
"Due to unforeseen legal matters which resulted in a member [reportedly Kam Lee] not being able to get his passport in time, DENIAL FIEND will unfortunately not be able to attend the six European dates that were planned for this May (which included appearances at Fuck The Commerce, Neurotic Deathfest and Bringer Of Death). DENIAL FIEND were really looking forward to making their European debut and playing some great shows with VITAL REMAINS, and are extremely disappointed. However, the good news is that MASSACRE will be reforming for 23 European shows in October/November of this year with DENIAL FIEND opening (passport issues will have been resolved by then). This version of MASSACRE will include 3/5 of the 'Inhuman Condition' line-up: Kam Lee, Terry Butler and Steve Swanson with Curt Beeson and Sam Williams filling in on drums and guitar."

Commented Williams: "This is not a permanent MASSACRE reformation. But rather a way to try and make up to the fans and promoters for us having to cancel these dates in May." The tour will be know as the "Massacre Re-Animated" tour.

Look for DENIAL FIEND's debut album, "They Rise", in stores everywhere this fall through Ibex Moon Records.
