THE NOMINON STORY SO FAR…
NOMINON was formed in January 1993 by Juha Sulasalmi and Peter Nilsson. Throughout the coming years, a few demos were released in the underground, and in 1998 the band signed its first recording agreement for X-Treme Records. The debut CD "Diabolical Bloodshed" was released November 15th, 1999.
After the release NOMINON played some festivals and started negotiating about a suitable deal with a major death/grind label, which later resulted in nothing. Instead, NOMINON continued to write new songs and it took a few years until any contracts were signed. Yet a deal with the small Greek label Nuclear Winter Records turned up during 2002 which resulted in a Cassette-EP and 7inch vinyl entitled “Blaspheming The Dead” and later the Mini-CD "The True Face Of Death". In April 2004 NOMINON supported MASTER on their Scandinavian tour. A CD with the three first NOMINON demos was also released by Northern Silence Prod. (Germany). After a few line-up problems, NOMINON continued as nothing had happened and during September/October NOMINON did their first ever European tour together with the legendary U.K. death pioneers BENEDICTION and land mates GODHATE. NOMINON also signed a one album deal with Singapore label KONQUEROR RECORDS.
NOMINON started the year 2005 with working on the second album, as well as auditioning a second guitar player for a more brutal live sound. In late January, the guys recorded their second album "Recremation" at Necromorbus Studio with engineer/producer Tore Stjerna. The album was released in late April the same year and in May on 12" LP by Blood Harvest Rds. In May, NOMINON also played at the cult festival Fuck The Commerce in Luckau, Germany. After the summer, NOMINON played their first mini-tour of Finland, as well as went out on a European tour with the American legends VITAL REMAINS. This tour was the most successful route so far for the grotesque fivesome on all levels.
NOMINON presented their first promo video during February 2006, in form of the track "Hordes Of Flies". The video was directed by D.Garptoft/Insane Pictures. Special introduction guest on the clip comes from Dave Suzuki (VITAL REMAINS). During the summer, the "Recremation" album was released via license in the USA by Necrohamonic Prod/Deathgasm Records. The band also signed a deal for a collection CD of hard-to-get tracks during the autumn with Pulverised Records. This collection features covers, unreleased demos and re-recorded older songs, and is entitled “Remnants Of A Diabolical History.” It was released in late 2006. NOMINON only played one single show during the year of 2006, that was a special show celebrating "Ten years as a Live act" in the end of December.
In the middle of February the following year; 2007, NOMINON went inside of Necromorbus Studio to record their third album; "Terra Necrosis" with owner and engineer Tore Stjerna. Ten Metal of Death tracks with some of the most varied NOMINON material to date. This gruesome album is set to be released in May / June via Konqueror Rds (Europe & Asia), IbexMoon Rds/Deathgasm Rds (North & South America, as well as Australia). Blood Harvest Rds will take care of the vinyl release worldwide. With the album release there’s a European tour following in July 2007 with the American cult Death metal band NUNSLAUGHTER and for the first time NOMINON is also set to tour North America as well in October with Death Metal brothers BENEDICTION.
